Reykjavik Energy Invest hf is an independent subsidiary of Reykjavik Energy (Orkuveita Reykjavikur).
Reykjavik Energy is currently working on a multinational study aimed at sequestering CO2 in basalt. The team includes world renowned scientist Wallace S. Broecker of MIT, recipient of numerous international awards, as well as top scholars from the University of Iceland and the Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France.
Energy from geothermal sources today amounts to less than 0.1% of the global world use. The mission of Reykjavik Energy Invest is to capture Reykjavik Energy’s proven geothermal experience to increase the use of geothermal energy globally.
Reykjavik Energy operates two geothermal sites owned by Reykjavik Energy and holds equity in two other fields. Reykjavik Energy owns the rights to develop several other steam fields in Iceland.
Our opportunity pipeline contains numerous projects located in the key geothermal areas in the world, including: Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Russia, South America, Indonesia, China, Greece, Turkey and New Zealand.
